AIPMT 2012
India is known for its strong medical foundation, as the percentage at which it is attracting the patients for its best medical services at cheaper cost is increasing without fail. Recently, themedical tourism is also increasing at a faster race, which means, people from other foreign countries are visiting India, exclusively for medical purposes and being operated, likewise the percentage of Indian doctors visiting other countries for helping the doctors over there in operations is tremendously increasing too. This is of course a good sign of medical growth and medical entrance exams in the country.
AIPMT Pattern
It is been conducted by the CBSE till date, by adhering to the rules and regulations that are framed by the Supreme Court of India for 15% of medical seats on merit basis. It comprises oftwo types of examinations, namely, the preliminary and the final examinations. The preliminary examination consists of 200 objective type questions from the subjects namely, physics, chemistry and biology and the final examination consists of 120 objective type questions fromphysics, chemistryand biology. The question pattern has been changed effectively as mentioned above from the year 2010 onwards, due to the repeated complaints on the unreliability issues of the subject mains. Hence, the final examination has also changed to be an objective type, question pattern, similar to the preliminary examination. The AIPMT has great significance, as most of the prominent and standard medical colleges would be definitely admitting their students only, via AIPMT.
How to Crack AIPMT?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions and it is most important too. Well, as usual, `Time Management' plays a vital role, hence working on many practical tests by having an eye on the digital clock would work better. Next comes the questions, consecutively, such as `What are the effective books and materials for cracking AIPMT?' `What are the effective methods of study for AIPMT?' and many more... Regarding materials, the NCERT books could be trusted upon, and other basic books on the subjects could be given importance.
The fact is that the candidates should be strong in the fundamentals of the all the subjects, such as physics, chemistry and biology. Since, the final examination has also changed to be anobjective type, more difficult and application level questions could be expected in the AIPMT examination. Hence, having a clear idea on the basic concepts and good practice in the applying the concepts would really help the candidates to make an effective attempt in the examination. When it is coming to answering methodologies, I would say, it would be better if the candidate attends the direct questions first, thereby ensuring the scores on his side, then jumping to thecomplicated questions with twists and turns.
The other significant fact to be considered would be the negative markings in the AIPMT examination, for every wrong answer, one third of the total marks would be detected. Hence, the probability of guessing should be kept low for more chances of high scoring!
